I've ordered 3 graco adjustable butt plates, comb kits, and butt pads in the past from them with no problems. Today I put an order in for the same Graco adj plate I've ordered before, and they say they can't ship it due to regulations?

Is this new? It's a butt plate for Pete's sake, and it doesn't fall under their restricted items lest.

Another thing I found funny was that I wanted to also order a brass shotgun bead. It said clearly that it can't be shipped internationally. I didn't order it but had to laugh.... The US is now safe from foreign militants and their high tech brass bead sighting systems.

Doesn't the manufacturer have to be registered - on a "list" with Dept of State - for their stuff to be exportable? Maybe they didn't pay the registration fee to stay on the list ..

Manufacturer has to have their Commerce Department's exporter's licence. The fee for said licence is huge. Commerce has the say so on shotgun parts. State for ITAR stuff.
Anyway, a part is a part. If it's for a firearm on the U.S. State Department's restricted for export list, it can't be exported. I'm guessing it's the exporter's licence this time though.

Retailers are starting to get gunshy about any dealings that can get them in trouble with ITAR or (in the case of shotgun parts) the Treasury Department... Uncle Sam has been a little rough in their handling of investigations (see Ares Arms), and it's just not worth the hassle to them...

As you said, no logic needs be applied...

Had the same problem ordering a pair of pacmayr and hogue pistol grips from them ended up getting the pacmayrs straight from Lyman and the hogues from amazon. Now I get 10 emails a week from brownells.
