I "was" thinking about buying the MVP Patrol till I handle one.
What kind of "out of spec" machines were used building this rifle.?
That sloppy bolt is a JOKE ! It literally rattles in the gun "bolt open'.
the "play" barrel to bolt is Huge !
Its kinda tricky to work.
The mag doesnt really fit 100% neither.

This "could" have been a nice rifle...instead its a "rushed to market" Joke. I was sooo disapointed.
I have handled 80 year old enfields that weren't that loose.

just my 2cents.

That little spring-loaded piece that drops down to strip rounds from the mag looks janky as hell and always kept me from even considering one.
Too bad as they were the first to mass produce the STANAG mags in a bolt and really could have realized a huge success if it wasn't built like a Mossberg ;)

The Ruger American Ranch knocks it out of the park when feeding from STANAG magazines...good design, they nailed it.

The mossbergs shoot I'll give em that. Very accurate rifle.

Bout the only nice thing I have to say about it though haha

Did you own one at one time Joel?

Got to shoot two a bit, didn't own them. Predator and patrol.

Like you said, It didn't make me want to jump ship from a Ruger. Maybe they hold up well over the long haul, I don't know! But wasn't really liking the feel of it.

Was a hammer though

I had one. SENT it back..hang fire.. something to do with the blade like accutrigger. Came back just as terrible but didn't hang fire. Barrel had serious galling from having the button pulled through. It did however shoot MOA with handloads.

I've had my mvp predator since 2012-2013 and still really like it.
Magpul mags don't lock in but I wouldn't use one anyway, factory mag and metal LAR mag works good.
But really if I were to buy a stanag bolt gun today, It would probably be a Ruger American

I have the 308 one. Ya the bolt is sloppy on it but it shoots real good
It doesn’t have that dangly stripper part on it either
I like that m14 mags work in it too
