One of my goals during the panic was to round out my collection of Wonder Nines in some for or another.
What is a Wonder Nine you ask? Well according to Robert Shimek, A Wonder Nine is a semi-automatic pistol chambered in 9×19mm Parabellum with a staggered column magazine and a double-action trigger for at least the first shot.

Wonder nines include but are not limited to: Sig226/229, Beretta 92, CZ75, S&W 59 /5906, et al.

I would have to say the my favorite is the Beretta. Perhaps it is because I grew up watching Riggs and McLean blasting their ways through endless bad guys with the 92 and Chow Yun Fat going through an endless supply of them in The Replacment Killers.

But I also really like the CZ. I am really impressed with how well though out this pistol is and see why is was a top contender.
One that I really wanted to ad was a S&W5906-1 but finding a DA/SA with a non prohib barrel was always a challenge, even before the dark days of the freeze.

So... Whats your favorite Wonder Nine and why?

Big hands here, love my CZS2, always wanted to pick up a 92A1 but drug my feet too long....then came the turd.

To deviate a little. Robert Shimek was one of my favorite writers. Especially his articles on surplus firearms. Very knowledgeable. He and Peter Kokalis. The majority were hacks.
Rest in peace gentlemen.

Hard to pick a favourite in this category, but I'd add the HK USP. The Expert variant (or Tactical or Elite) is pretty hard to beat.

I tried to round out my wonder nines too. Hummed and hawed about the Beretta 92 but jumped on one last minute. Glad I did. I like it way more than in thought I would.

CZ75 and all of it's variants; Jericho, Tanfoglio, Sphinx, and the one that I have; NZ85B.

Most functional and ergonomic of all of them; better triggers than Beretta and SIG.

Chow Yun Fat is my inspiration, it's mostly the reasons that I'm having pistols in pair, Lol unfortunately my choice are Glock 19x, 34 and 43. My favorite of all nine is Kimber Aegis II with custom paint job.

I REALLY like my CZ Phantom SP-01 when I had it - Polymer frame version of the CZ75, 14.5oz lighter! The grip and balance just worked extraordinarily well for my hands.

Browning Hi Power

After owning +/or trying a lot of the 'wonder nines' over many, many years of handgun ownership, I kept coming back to the BHP.

That would be my choice for a fav now.

NAA.

Walther P99 if you abide by the DA at least for first short criteria. HK P2000 fits into that definition as well. I like Beretta 92 and Sig P22X series but those are bigger and heavier.

If SAO allowed then BHP.
