The only issues I ever have seem to be based around bullet profile. Blunt bullets like those found in the 222/333/555 packs don't run great from 25+ mags but generally run well otherwise with occasional stoppages. Anything round nose runs 100%. Unless it's Remington then who knows, their .22 is so incredibly ####ty it blows my mind.

For me when I was shooting a 10-22 I used to use Remington yellow jackets . I used them on many ground hogs and pigeons. nowadays if I was you for plinking use the Federal blue box bulk or Winchester bulk for plinking . for hunting CCI mini mags or CCI Velocitors or Remington yellow jackets. you had a slam fire with a 22 ? was the action dirty as in so much crud around the firing pin it was still sticking out and detonated the next round before the action closed ? if so you'd better start cleaning you Toys . as for parts you might be able to find them . western gun parts or go on Rimfire Central and ask the Boys on there where you might be able to find said parts.

SK Standard and SK Match (red box) - ragged hole at 50yds, and still holding nicely at 100 (for Outlaw Rimfire matches). Factory thin barrel and action.
I am also building a RIA for Outlaw shooting, and ran seven different .22LRs though it yesterday, including Yellow Jacket, Winchester Wildcat, AE, CCI Mini Mags, and the AE was the best non-SK ammo, for grouping on that gun. (I spent $35 on cheap ammo to see if I could get off the $90/brick SK Match - no dice.)
I am also building a RIA for Outlaw shooting, and ran seven different .22LRs though it yesterday, including Yellow Jacket, Winchester Wildcat, AE, CCI Mini Mags, and the AE was the best non-SK ammo, for grouping on that gun. Blaser ammo works best in my current rifle. CCI and Winchester have worked well in others. My wife's likes the Federal Match.
You need to try various brands and loads to find that works best in your rifle.
You are basically trying to find the one that matches the spring in your action in order to cycle correctly and produce the best accuracy. No two of mine over the years have ever liked the same ammo.

I have had my 10/22 since the mid 1980s and have used most types of rimfires in it. Had very few issues ever with it.
My go to is the Remington Yellow Jacket.
I use my rimfire on the farm and have dispatched all sorts of small game with it as well as more target practice than most.
Have owned a few Squires Binghams, in fact my first .22 was one. Hope you find some parts.

I am surprised at the love for Yellow Jackets. I have quite a lot of it but I don't use it because it's slow, dirty and pretty inaccurate in all my .22s. Just goes to show that even similar models can shoot very differently.
Yellowjackets and slow aren't normally heard together.
I like them but personally, I think they shoot better out of dirty barrels.
I thought they were being discontinued but they are still listed on the Rem website. Why are they hard to find in Canada?

The price has gone up dramatically the past few years. I only bought them because they were $25/500. The few times I have seen them lately they were $50/500 up to $70/500... Even out of a 20" barrel they do a measly 1330fps average. That is across at least two lots I have. My chrono jives with advertised fps for mini-mags and stingers so unfortunately I don't believe it's an error.
Was looking for the best value and decided to try a Federal Black Pack.
Paid $118.10 / 1600 all said and done.
Gets apparently cheaper when Federal rebate promos are running. But wanted to grab one before the stocks are all snapped up..
Will see how it goes!

I only shoot CCI ammo now for all my .22lr. I bought all my Stingers, Velocitors, Segmented when they were 30 bucks a brick, and the mini mags for 8 buck per 100. People say to buy cheap and stack deep and I did around 10 years or so ago.

I've shot just about everything out of my 10/22 without any major issues. A couple FTE and one instance of the action not cycling properly with Winchester white box. Currently working my way through a case (5000) of Remington thunderbolt, they're dirty and cheap but they do the trick for plinking. Shot about 2500 rounds of it this summer and still going strong.
