I am a new .270 Win owner and will be using this rifle for deer and to a far lesser extent coyote. I also enjoy getting out to the range once a month.
Shots for deer are under 100m, however up to 200m for coyotes. Looking for factory ammo to get the job done on the deer and economical enough to use throughout the year at the range.

Thanks for your comments

Federal 130 gr. you can go econo Hi-Shok or prem.130 gr.Nosler Part. Before i started reloading i used 130 gr.Remington pspcl but they ruin a lot of meat when they blowup.

Your freaking me out Bigbore....
I'll trade you twelve coyotes for a Mule deer.....
The 140's worked great on coyotes right out to 250 yards... one hole in and out... and no runaways. Only one exit wound was extreme and that from a raking shot down the spine

If you are looking for economical factory loads I would suggest Winchester Super X loads in either 130 or 150 grain power points. These are a great deer bullet and should have no problems on coyotes out to 300 yards. And they are available at just about every Canadian Tire store.

Good luck!

The 140's worked awesome on whitetails. Recovered from one mature buck at about 75 yards (note to self - weigh bullet) and pass thru on another at 418 yards  (Yup, it was witnessed 8) ) Both were heart/lung with the long shot broadside and the close one quartering away. Hell BIGREDD, com'on out and help yourself to muleys. We've got scads of 'em around here along with lottsa whiteys too  ...KF

Nice shot on the 418 yarder... I expected that type of performance at that range but not too many opportunities for those shots down here in the swamp
Just wondering are you rolling your own or shooting factory loads... :?:
Nice bucks by the way... 8)
Crashman mentioned the Winchester Power points... they are very good ammo for the money... but I have seen some jacket seperation @ close range. Same thing with the Remington Express Coreloct niether of them is bonded so you can get some explosive results on Coyotes at close range and at high velocity.

BIGREDD, I've got a box of 140gr. Accubonds that are begging to be stuffed into casings but time hasn't allowed for proper load developement. The Federal ammo featuring the 140 Accubond has sufficed thus far. However, I picked up a bunch of powders and various bullets for my rifles and have all this winter to finish what I started  A co-worker uses his .270 on everything with handloaded 130gr Partitions. Elk, moose, mule deer, whitetail...all have dropped to one well placed bullet. He says if he's ever drawn for grizzly, he'll use that same load  (I volunteered to back him with my .338  )

Ive loaded up some 130 gr CT Silvertips and they groups real well at the range, yet to see how they perform on a whitetail but think they'll do just fine. I heard that the .270 loves a 130 gr bullet so that what I'll be using this year. I plan on getting some 130 Barnes triple shocks in 130 sometime soon as well.
I hunted last year exculsively w/ Accubonds out a .308 and they were awesome. I found that at the range I could shrink my groups by have an inch shooting the Accubonds vs the J4 target bullet and when they hit a deer it was lights out. :D

Cheers!!

That nice mule buck that i shot two weeks ago was with 140gr. accubond (as i'd been reading lots of guys earlier raveing about them).

I hit him head on right in the middle of his chest at about 120/140 yds. or so,and he was dead instantly.

I got 126 lbs. of meat from the butcher, so i think he would have been around 240 lbs.before he ran into me.

That's the first time i've used them, and will use them again

140 Accubond, WW cases, WLR Primer, 59 Grains of Norma MRP [or Reloder 22] in my 700 CDL, shoots a ragged hole for three shots at 100 meters and 'graphs 2990 at 15 feet from the muzzle. Dumps deer near or far quickly and efficiently. I don't see a need for any other bullet in my 270. Eagleye.

I'm new to hunting with my (new to me) 1953 Husquvarna 270, but 150 gr. Winchester power points did the job on the one deer I have taken with it so far, with surprisingly little meat damage when shot behind the shoulder through the ribs.
