Whats your reloading procedure?

Myself. I would resize and decap about 100 or more cases. Then reprime,and trim length. Then i would recharge them all with a powder charger and mechanical scale and trickler. and lastly press all the bullets in the cases.

But now i cant do that because i am using the chargemaster combo system. I find myself waiting around for the charger to charge the pan. I need to rethink my reloading procedure now.

Whats your procedure?

clean and check cases for damage.
de prime /size.
check length , trim , de burr.
prime, powder(visual check levels in cases)/load bullets.

Prime all the cases you are going to load.
Have your seating die set up in the press.
Throw a charge from the electric measure and dump it in the case. replace the powder pan on the scale and dispense another charge.
Seat the bullet in the charged case and place in loading block while waiting for the next charge.

NOTE: It is important to have the scale on a different bench or table than your press as the vibrations from operating the press can cause your electronic scale to "error".

Clean the cases, throw them in the electric case feeder, start yanking the handle, add bullet.

I tried it this way and i am still standing there waiting for the next charge. It takes about 25 seconds to throw a charge and about 10 seconds for me to grab a case, put it in the press , seat a bullet and place it in the tray. So i stand there for 15 seconds wondering how the hell i am going to make this more efficient. At least with the old system i was working the whole time and reloading was pretty fast.

I think i am going to have to charge a case right after i trim , so i can keep trimming and charging.

I might try this. After i resize and decap i can possibly reprime in the same stroke. charge a pan,trim, deburr, and charge a case. After all the cases are resized,primed,trimmed debured,charged i can seat bullets? Hmmm.Might work.

Don't prime before you trim. Do all case preparation first. Then do one operation to all your cases then change dies. Having a bin of unprocessed cases on one side of the press and an empty one on the other speeds this up. Use both hands. Into the shellholder with one hand, do the operation then out with the other hand while reaching for another case. Charging with powder depends on how you do it and what cartridge you're loading, but I've always charged pistol rounds then seated the bullet in two steps. Rifle cases get charged and immediately seated the bullet. Mind you, I weigh every case for rifle ammo.

Same as the other single stagers listed above, but as far as the 'most time consuming Pain in The Ass part' you have two options:

If you're gonna wait for those damn machines you need a buddy to take care of pushing the button and dumping the charges. You can do all the other stuff... (like taking care of the beer)

But seriously, I have taken to using a Redding Powder drop, volumetric style with new metering insert... but I don't do it manually... I have a big old pile of wire, timers, regulators, solenoids, etc to run the thing pneumatically. Whole thing is triggered by foot pedal leaving both hands free to move a tray of ready cases under the feed tube (actually an inverted 7mm cartridge jammed onto some 3/8 stainless tubing...) I can vary the speed of cut and cycle time. Unbelievably accurate. I would say it can easily compete with any electronic trickler on the market... except that it does it 50x as fast.
...but that's just me.

Thanks for the post zedex as I was thinking about getting such a system. Another example of technology slowing things up?

I use a RCBS Uniflow powder measure for pistol and do all my rifle (no bulk here) one at a time.

The chargemaster automatically fills the pan when you place the pan on the scale. No pushing of buttons here.

I figured before i bought it i could charge all the cases in one go but 25 seconds between charges? Then i figured i could charge one case,replace pan on scale ,seat a bullet,put loaded round in tray and my charge would be ready to roll. No such luck.
Sounds like a nifty setup Cannuckgunny. I would like to see a picture of it.

The chargemaster is a great machine but i just need to figure out a better procedure for it. I have the uniflow measure,505 scale and trickler and i became very fast as throwing accurate charges, so the chargemaster seems very slow.I could probably throw a charge including trickling in about 10 seconds as opposed to 25.
