Whay arent cormorants and ####pidg...er...seagulls

The Alberta hunting regulations basically say "These birds can be hunted, all others cannot". Cormorants are among the "all others".

Why would you want to hunt cormorants (if you do want to)?

Robin down under

P.S. In Alberta in a special area Fish & Wildlife has a crew marking and painting cormorant eggs with cooking oil which kills the embrio. The female bird will continue to sit on them till it is too late to nest again with new eggs. This is to reduce the cormorant pop. in the area as part of a fish management experiment.

It wouldn't be sp much hunting as killing the crmorants. THey're a terrible nuisance and I'd love to be legally alowed to pick the filthy things off of my lake.

I have a special kill/scare permit from the province this year for cormorants. It was issued as a means of saving trout/smelt/baitfish etc in a couple watersheds. It is a BLAST, being able to legally eliminate some of the filthy ba#@&#ds. Getting kinda expensive on the ammo . :dancingbanana:
Almost as much fun as duck hunting,
