Total of 11 buckets of wheel weights. Ended up after sorting 6 and a half buckets of good lead. Not bad for being free. That will bring my total to around 2,000 pounds of ingots. Got free shipping to Canada for Eastwood Powder. I am set for a while. Will keep collecting wheel weights. I am sure it will run out soon enough. Anyone here have heard when they will be eliminating lead wheel weights in Canada?

You can probably get your powder free as well from some of the commercial sprayers in the community, just ask for a color over-runs that they probably will never use again. I have acquired three or four different colors this way, probably not colors you would choose but beggars cant be choosers. On good score I made was over 7 lbs of JD yellow still in the shipping can...more than I will use in 3 lifetimes...and all I had to do was carry it out the door.

A few years ago i went knocking at some commercial sprayers in the area and end up with 3 different colors, 10 kilos each color, i think i'm good for a while.

Wheel weights will never be eliminated as steel & aluminum tire rims cannot be truly balanced without something.
The typical lead wheel weight is already becoming over-run by zink ones & steel ones. Plus leadlike WW's that won't melt...

One can spend an enormous amount of time just sorting through a bucket of that stuff. Many casters & reloaders now prefer to use others spent lead, aka range scrap. Most ranges will allow interested parties to scoop some, or even encourage it.

I still like the powder coat products that Emerald Coatings in Palmerston, Ontario sell. Their clear coat & tool blue is pretty much foolproof, gives great coverage & is still economical.
