Hello All. So if I were to buy a Marstar m305 what else should I be buying for it at the same time?. Gas block shims, cleaning kit etc. It will be the first one I've owned. Just interested in getting it to shoot fine out of the cosmolene and will worry about scoping it later after reading all the posts. Thanks.

Buy a couple of the longer mags the short ones suck.
I think you get the cleaniing kit multi tool with it so that's good.

You can make shims yourself it's not hard and a lot cheaper than paying $12
I think Mystic Player had some at one point(?)
Basically if you can find shim stock just cut them out. It doesn't have to be pretty it's all hidden.
HUNGRY'S DVD IS A MUST HAVE OR ATTEND A CLINIC :D:D
(you really need to do this it's the best thing ever)

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY

ANOTHER M305:50cal::50cal:

My purchase included a stainless op-rod guide and a few more 5/20 mags.
That's all you really need to make it a sure-shooting zombie gun you can rely on.

Of course with the glut on the market we'll all be fighting for ammo. lol.

We'll see how much cosmoline comes on this batch too. Everyone better start searching the old cosmo removal threads. I highly recommend the dishwasher method if your wife happens to go out for the afternoon. :)

Yeah the op-rod guide seems like it would be a good thing to get (and will be my next purchase). The only other thing I'd look for is a 5/20 mag because I find them easier to load/remove than my little 5 rounders.

I'd get a recoil buffer, gas shims and guide rod. They are not expensive. The short mags are more difficult to remove and insert. Downright lousy with freezing cold hands, but it can be done.
