When do you stop being a newbe?

I can think of a few newbie's that have hundreds or thousands of posts. Has a bit to do with knowing not to post when you don't know what you're talking about sometimes.

There are no bad questions but a lot of bad answers from people who should know better some days.

Just was wondering when you stop being a newbe on here?

When you learn something... I don't care how many posts you have, if you never learn anything while you're here; you're still a bloody newb. Take some time to look around the forums and read threads before you pop in with ignorant posts in an attempt to get your post count up.

Just a tip for all people who are new here.

Important message...

I have been here for years and cherish my noob rating. I absorb tons of stuff, use the equipment exchange and keep up to date on a hobby.

But I Never Never waste a post that could cause me to loose my noob rated membership. This was not wasted, just wanted to offer a different opinion on the rating system.

And since I am burning a very important post ....thanks to all of you out there that make this site probably the first "go to" place for most of us seeking an answer to a question and generally a cool place to hang out!!!

da noob

You can post all you want in OT and your count won't go up.

If 30 post is true, then how come I've posted quite a few times. But my post count is still zero???

Posts in certain sub-forums such as off-topics and the EE don't count towards your post count. The idea is to try not to encourage post whoring to pad one's post count... good intentions but doesn't always work out that way... ;)

Here's the basic breakdown:
<30 posts = Newbie
>30 but <100 = Member
>100 but <1000 = CGN Regular
>1000 but <2000 = Big Mouth
>2000 but <3000 = I have no life
>3000 = Help! I sold my soul to the internet
