when i buy my M305 from marstar once they get thier next batch in, i was wondering what else i should get with the rifle, and why.

what does this purchase usually come with? how many magazines does it include? stripper clips or slings?

if not, what else should i buy with the rifle. how important are stripper clips if the rifle already has a detachable magazine?

any help would be appreciated.

"...how important are stripper clips..." They're not. The CF used them to load mags, but out of the rifle.
Buy a couple more mags no matter how many it comes with. However, I suspect it comes with one 5 round mag, but contact them and ask.

I just bought a M305 yesterday. It came with one 5 round mag, sling and cleaning kit. I also purchased a 30/5 mag from EE forums. I think I'm going to order 2-3 20/5 mags from mastar.

at $399 for the rifle and one mag, it might be better getting it from dark international for $440 and 3 mags, no?

No it was from Al Simmons in Hamilton and the price was $499. Marstar is expecting them any time soon since August.

Get a bunch of 20-5s. The short mags are a PITA to remove. and if the CPC can roll back c-68 for us, someday you can have a rivet drilling ceremony and convert them back to 20s

The 5/20s are also an excellent palm rest for offhand shooting. The 305 has a charger guide (just as the FNC1A1 did), and you could use stripper clips to reload the rifle. Most folks don't.

I agree, get a few 5/20's. I got one with my rifle (from Hitzy) and one from a buddy. Then got a couple more from P&D.

Stripper clips are only good for keeping track of loose shells in your jacket pocket, IMHO.

Odd, I always use stripper clips. Course, I've been using IVI on strippers.
Slide the clip in, which also blocks the bolt so no chance of Garand thumb, push, and you've got a mag full.
Faster and easier than changing and charging mags.
