When should I start to worry something may be wrong?

I have had my rpal for serval years now and own many long guns but just bought my first restricted hand gun last week. I am wondering how much time to wait before wondering what might be wrong with the transfer and statt? I bought it new from a dealer and do not belong to a club yet though I have mailed the club application in. Has anyone been refused a restricted transfer or statt? I am in Ontario btw.
 
I bought my Tokarev on a Saturday, Same day as a gun show and my STATT was issued on the following Wednesday or Thursday IIRC. I was not a "member" of a range until the following day.

It could be your delay is the fact, according to a few posts here, that the CFO office has been empty all week because they went to a conference in Quebec.
 
I wonder if I should call the CFO to check on the transfer status if I do not hear anything soon or is that just inviting trouble? My worry is mostly the statt as I am only home every second weekend so I am limited to when I can pick the gun up and take it home.
 
If its your first restricted purchase, the first one seems to always take longer than the next.

Another thread is advertising that Ontario is in a 4-6 week backlog.
 
I also live in Ontario. Have never had any delays or problems in 30 years. I purchase as a collector , no need to join a club but i have as getting the ATT is easier. Have purchased guns at auctions here. Bid in the morning pay at lunch when paperwork is done and take home whatever i bought. Maybe auctioneer has something prearranged as these sales are always on a Saturday.
 
Don't worry at all. The civil servants will get around to your application eventually. You should be able to check the status of your transfer via the CFP.
"...no need to join a club but i have as getting the ATT is easier..." It's been 'policy' in Ontario since long before the current daft legislation that you must belong to a club to get an ATT and have a transfer done.
"...not a "member" of a range..." You never will be a member of a range. You join a club, not a range.

Doesn't hurt to call and ask. Getting through by phone lately is the real challenge!

Please clarify where it states I must belong to a club to purchase prohibited or restricted firearms. My last purchase was a S-W .38 with a 2 1/2 inch barrel. The registration certificate was processed on the sale date. 03/09/2013. The auction house issued a receipt with all applicable information and authorize to transport and I took possession . 03/21/2013 I received the Firearm Registration Certificate from the RCMP. The only information that was required was my RPAL and drivers licence to register as a bidder at the auction.
 
Well I guess I was worried for nothing on this anyways, transfer and statt were done Wednesday and I have a month to pick it up. Not bad, now my question is if that statt is only good for that one gun? If was thinking of buying another when I go to pick this one up.

Yes, STATT is issued for a serial number of the gun you buy.
