When the Wishbook got banned... H&K 1988

I’ve only ever owned on H&K. P7 PSP… Which I still have.
I remember one of my high school buddy’s big brother bought an HK93 back around 89 or ‘90. Then the first round of Prohibs hit him. He assumed that he could fess up to having it, and then be grandfathered. But he didn’t trust the powers that be, so he kept his mouth shut about having it.
Same as with the Gun Registry, it was never something that sat riggt with him….
And now I ran into him last summer after about 30 years, and we get talking about guns.
Turns out the lucky SOB still has it, and even takes it out shooting from time to time!!!!
I sure wish I wasn’t young and broke when you could still order an HK93, an FAL, or AK47. Heck I remember seeing ads for Steyr AUG’s where they were hung in the rear window of a pickup truck gun rack, advertising their usefulness and suitability as a “Truck Gun”.
I do miss the good old days!!!!

I had a 91A2 and a 93A2 , solid rifles . The 93 was heavy for a 5.56 chambered rifle , but it was reliable and reasonably accurate . I would have loved a PSG-1 , but that was too much cake for me at the time.
