9 years ago I bought a rifle off of a fella I knew well and worked with. It was a super accurate Remington 700 30-06 that he had sent up to Corlane Sports long before they were RMR. Tim and Rod teflon'd all the metal parts and bedded the rifle in an ADL Brown Precision Pounder.
For some reason the guy I worked with wanted to get some cash out of the rifle, so I bought it and shot it a bit and sold it to another fella we had both worked with cause I needed the money with the baby coming. I have regretted it ever since.
So it just happened that a friend Id'd the rifle on AO as being for sale, and I bought it back. It isn't often you get the chance to have a rifle come back to the safe that shoots like this.
Anyway, the stock color always bothered me, so I sanded her down and did the deed.
Shot it two days ago, and it still shoots too well. So being a project type person, the fact that it puts 5 rounds under 3/4" with a 168TSX handload, and Federal Blue Box 180gr Factory ammo isn't enough, and I had 200 pieces of 168gr RBT Matrix's recently delivered.
I have 60 rounds of handloads ready and I am off to the range tomorrow. Looking to turn this into an honest 500 yard all round rifle, and I think I'll keep her this time....
For the guy that asks, it weighs 7lbs 6oz as pictured with a VXII 4-12x40AO.

Didn't really get the same gun back, but very close .......

The first firearm I ever owned was an Ithaca M37 Lightweight in 12 ga. In 1975, I worked all summer in a sawmill for $1.75/hr and bought it new for $175 total. Several years later, when I moved to NB from Ontario the courier lost it on the move. I've been wanting to replace it ever since, but this time in a 20ga with 26" VR bbl & fixed IC choke. A couple weeks ago, I bought a very nice one on the EE, exactly as I was looking for. :)

The courier lost. That's fresh.
Glad to hear that story SC, anyone else got a long lost love back? And if you start to talk about chicks, you missed the point.

Over the years, there have been a 'few' I've parted with, then kicked my butt for doing so. There are the five main ones that come to mind, the first, I've had a 'couple' Jungle Carbines. The latest replacement is a KEEPER!

Next, after a couple of S&W 29's, this one I'm keeping.

And, my second AYA 10ga., nicer wood in this one

Another in the handgun ranks. I had an older Colt Python with the Royal Blue finish that I very much regretted getting rid of but have replaced it with another older model.

And, the last on the main list, this model 71 winchester deluxe is what I replaced my first, standard model 71 with.
