Where all them Dillon XL 650 users?

Just a general question for members that load 9mm using a 650XL. What additions did you get? - good investment or bad?

Some of the things I'm looking at adding are:
1) Powder Check Sensor (in the brass)
2) Case Feeder
3) The metal stand for added height
4) 4 extra primer tubes
5) Dillon Roller Handle (Aluminum)
6) 9mm dies

Thoughts? - PLEASE REPLY ONLY if you use a Dillon. I'm not looking for what you think might work.

To my 650 I added (From your list): the case feeder, strong mount, extra primer tubes. All definitely worth it. I didn't pick up a powder check, as I needed that spot for the bullet feeder die/tube setup I'm running. It took a bit of getting used to (DON'T swap tubes with the ram down. Bullets all over the damn place. lol), but works awesome.

Not on your list, I added:

Spent primer chute/catcher container- Works great until it doesn't. The plastic tubing likes to kink if left in the wrong position, and then the primers can't make it through. If you don't notice, they build up until they have nowhere to go, and lock the press up. Bit of a PITA. Working on a solution...

Live primer catcher thing- Eliminates the "ski jump" effect of the stock live primer chute. Worth it, for what it cost. From my experience being a newbie to reloading, I had a lot of live primers to collect, haha.

Extra billet toolheads- Super useful for multiple calibers and not having to set up dies every time. I didn't go full conversion kits for every cartridge (Little on the expensive side), but I did get a powder die for every one. That way all I have to adjust is the powder bar, and everything else is ready to go. At least it is going from 9mm to .38. Small primer, small powder bar, etc. You can grab them on eBay for a lot cheaper than Dillon. And they're prettier (Anodized billet aluminum :) )

Well here’s my 5 cents.....if you buy all the bells and whistles for the Dillon 650...your about $300 short of buying a super 1050....my advise is to go with a 1050...why.........you get a 7station instead of a 5...
If your in the zone for case preparations and loading the 650 can be done but your adding a couple of more steps ....the 1050 you can do it all at once ....
What I know now ....if I knew back then ...I would of got the super 1050....
Look at YouTube videos ...people doing case prep...and loading
Anyways you can’t go wrong with Dillon
The 650 or the 1050
All depends on what you wanna do
Ask around who has one and ask to go try

EVERYTHING is more expensive for the 1050. Tool heads, caliber conversions, etc. It's definitely not in the same cost category when you look at everything.

I load 45 on my 650

Some of the things I'm looking at adding are:
1) Powder Check Sensor (in the brass) - I do not use one and I don't really feel I need it. Might be more useful on the smaller hard to see inside 9mm
2) Case Feeder - I don't have one yet, but it's HIGH on the too buy list. I load 100rds/week for my competition shooting, if I had the case feeder I'd likely load 500+rnds/time.
3) The metal stand for added height - Mine is mounted on the bench at the normal height and I feel the metal stand would be more comfortable - go for it if you can
4) 4 extra primer tubes - if you have 5 tubes in total, and the case feeder, 500rds at a time will go fast, you'll probably be looking to buy them down the road if you don't buy them at the start
5) Dillon Roller Handle (Aluminum) - I've been fine with the factory ball handle loading 100rds at a time, you can always add it later if the ball isn't comfortable for 500+rnds at a time

My rcbs chargemaster and my dillon 650 have been my greatest reloading purchases, I would never give them up.
