We collectors in the States have been frustrated (as indicated on the Gunboards site) at the lack of MkIII's available. I'm wondering if the same holds true for collectors in Canada. If you collect WWII battle rifles, please let me know your experience in finding the MkII's and III's. Have you seen any Mark I's at all in your part of the continent? ...Just a general inquiry...

Mk. I - scarcer than hen's teeth.
Unaltered Mk. II and Mk. III rifles - not common at all.
Mk. III Home Guard rifles - occasionally seen. Will be either sported or in very good to near new condition.
Mk. II** target rifles turn up. Commercial ones seen more often than service marked ones.
Sported service rifles - not uncommon. Turn up regularly. Either bubba or commercial sporters done up in the UK post WW2. Most likely rifles sent to the UK for Home Guard use.
Factory sporting rifles - encounter these more often than intact service rifles.

I expect that most Rosses that turn up in the US are II*** rifles from the batch that was sent south as training rifles during the First War.

In 1939 Canada was holding more Rosses than Lee Enfields. Many were used in primary training camps, or sent to the UK.

As far as scarcity goes - how common are intact pre-1919 M1903 Springfields in the US? And there were a lot more M1903s made than Rosses.
