Hi all,

I was just wondering where the supply of Nagant Revolvers is.
Looking quickly there were apparently 2 million manufactured as opposed to the 1.7 million TT-33's which leads me to question why are they not available, considering you can find TT-33's anywhere for cheap prices. I know I need one to complete my 1930's-1955 Soviet small arms collection but can't find any or at least not at a reasonable price (no way am I paying 800$ for one). Any thoughts would be appreciated. Also if someone brings some in I will buy one in a heart beat (provided they aren't 800 a piece).

Edited to include: On second thought if they were at the price of TT-33's maybe even up to the 300$ range I would buy them in a heartbeat

The days of 225$ Nagant revolver are long gone, same as 150$ M44 Mosins. There are much more TT33 pistols were produced than Nagant revolvers, may be 100 to 1. Anyway I'm selling mine for 800, because believe it or not that is how much I paid for it. Its nice unfired one and the fact that it has history to it beats the price of any new revolver that you can buy for that price.

A few years ago they were all over, and were for quite awhile. If I had to guess I'd say they didn't sell super well. Don't get me wrong, I bought one of the first ones in and love it, but they're definitely not good shooters.

I want it more to complete my collection type deal, and for the novelty of it as opposed to the accuracy of one. The thing I don't understand is if they were all over, and they aren't very good shooters then why are they not more available then they currently are?

I sold mine a few months ago it was a 1937 and it was in new condition and it fired ok but no where near an $800 pistol but I guess that's why I don't have mine anymore and you do!! and in no way am I trying to start an argument with gewehr76 but if its unfired as you suggest than it cant have much history as no one used it??

I think that after the initial import the dealers didn't want to bring in anymore since they were slow sellers. Don't know for sure, just educated speculation. Having worked in the industry, I know you sell alot more milsurp guns to guys looking for cheap shooters than collectors - at least that was my experience selling Mosins, SKSs and TT-33s. Although now that there's actually ammo available for them maybe they'd sell better.

That said I'm a dedicated collector myself and I love my Nagant. It's such a weird little gun (and actually kind of terrible as a combat weapon), but they were actually in continuous production for 50 years. How many other milsurp firearms can you say that about?

There are Nagant Revolvers still for sale in the US. A few years back they were $100. Surprised no Canadian dealer has brought a few crates of them up here. I think I saw them on the Century site just last year for $195?
With all the Russian arms fans here it should be a slam dunk.

Just for interest - my 1938 Tula Nagant M1895, along with it's big brother, a Belgian Nagant M1878-86 in 9.4mm.

I think a lot of them are in the US. On a youtube channel that I watch from time to time, the guy bought one to play around with. He reloads for it too. logcabinlooms is the channel name.

Respectfully, you could buy one in the US off GB, ship it to IRG and have it imported and pay much less than $800.

Yeah, $800 is insane for a Nagant, no offense. Epps had them for 200$ 3 years ago with holster and lanyard, and they haven't got any better since then. I paid less than $800 last year for a mint S&W 629-4 with 200 rounds of ammo.

I don't think we are going to see any more in quantity brought in like in the past, Russia is destroying a lot of them to comply with UN mandates, see this link -

They can't pass them off as hunting rifles or carbines and export them like they do with the Mosin's etc.

Here's my 1934 Nagant, I paid about $200 for it a few years back from a member on the EE. This one has definetely seen a lot of usage, (neck shot executions?) the original ejector rod was replaced by a sawed off Mosin Nagant cleaning rod. If this relic could talk, I'm not sure I'd want to listen to it.....
