These have been out for a bit have they not? I haven’t seen much in the way of real world reviews. I’m not trying to stir the NEA / BCL pot, I’m genuinely curious how the latest offering performs. I can see myself getting into an AR-10 at some point.

I got one on a trade and took it out just to function test it before selling. With the 5/10 PMAG and 10 rnd asc mag, it fed and ejected flawlessly. I only put 20 rounds of federal 7.62 through it though. It was fairly soft shooting/didn’t seem over gassed.

Fit and finish is pretty excellent as far as I’m concerned. One issue is that the dust cover they use is cheap flimsy plastic and when you open the upper/lower to remove the bolt, it opens (as it should but when you go to collapse the upper/lower, the dust cover binds on the lower. It opens almost parallel with the side of the receiver if that makes sense. The BCG functions well, but the finish left a little to be desired (some wear marks on the top, on either side of the gas key) and the retaining pin system they use, while nice, is a pain to remove IMO.

It’s pretty light for a 308 battle rifle. Didn’t weigh it but would guess around 8lbs stock. I like the ambi controls and it’s a plus that it comes with a decent charging handle.

I didn’t put sights on as, again I was just function testing so I cannot speak to accuracy.

For comparison I built a stag 10 a while back. I still prefer the stag 10, but the mk7 is way better than anything I’ve seen from NEA/BCL before.

Hope that helps!

Took mine to the range the first time ever today.

Fired 50 rounds of surplus 7.62 flawlessly, not one issue whatsoever, Ejected them around 3 o clock in a pile of about 1 foot in diameter.

Took about 10 shots to get it dialed in with a cheapo bushnell that was a combo on a savage axis that I mounted on this rifle for giggles.

At a 100 yards, I was getting 5 shot groups of about 1 inch.

I know it could have done better and I was at fault for it, since it was -15 outside, wind and snow (weatherman lied to me about today) and I was cold and shivering.

So far, I'm pleased with it.

Still haven’t seen much in the way of horror stories about the MK7. Maybe people are waiting for nice weather to get out and shoot. Anyone have an idea how many are out in the wild?
