I'm looking to get my hands on a Norc 1911 in 9mm (single stack) - but Marstar is sold out. Any other dealers carry 'em?

Don't get ONE NP29. No absolutely not.

GET TWO of them !!

Honestly, I got one for myself and then my wife loved it so much, I had to get another. I have a great wife !! So she then proceeded to take my SERPA 1911 holster and thigh rig so I had to buy another. Oh darn!!

Life is good.... now if you could only find another NP29..... Keep us posted where you find one. You will not be disappointed.

Hey Barney, just wondering, do you have ONE wife or TWO of them? You seem to recomend two of every thing else:D

Np-29

I bought one a few years ago in Edmonton Alberta at Milarm and have no complaints so far. It has eaten all ammo I have tried without any problems and seems fairly accurate. The controls are all easy to use and I like the feel of the grips. I realized I should have bought 2 of them after my buddy let me shoot his beretta in one hand and my NP-29 in the other.
Is there a reason everyone seems to want the 29 over the stacker mag version (NP-28 I think) which seems to be alot easier to find these days? Other than magazine availability and price.

I second that Cr5, I would happily go for a 28, but everyone else seems to want the '29. Anyone know why? Is it because the NP-29's are still mil spec, but the '28's aren't?

Since we are restricted by law to 10 rounds, having a wider, larger capacity 1911 doesn't make much sense in Canada. The single stack NP-29 magazine holds 9 rounds.

The NP-29 accepts all standard 1911 parts, I don't think that the same can be said for the larger capacity Norinco 1911's. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

The NP-29 will take all the aftermarket 1911 stuff available. Plus it will use standard single stack 9mm 1911 mags available from various makers.

Same can't be said about the wide body NP-28... ;)

I figured it had something to do with those parts/mags. Thanks guys!

I checked with Ellwood Epps, and they don't carry them :(
Sorry, it was the .45 1911A1 they have
