Where can a short 870 fore end be bought ?

The fore end on my 870 copy ( Dominion arms Grizzly ) with 8 1/2" barrel is split right at the part above the mag tube. ( Came that way, never fired the gun yet )

Where can I get a replacement ?

Brand not important, but I cant find one short enough, the original is 5 1/2" long and all the fore ends I see are longer, or will a longer one still work ?

I just want to find one somewhere in stock so I can go out shooting

Contact CanAm, he may replace it for free, but at least I know he used to carry them in stock. After market forearms are very few and far between as only Dlask and CanAm seem to be producing the guns on any kind of commercial level. Try the EE too, that is where I got mine.

Warranty, for sure.

But depending on the nature of the damage it might work just fine for many years...

If it is above the mag tube, I wouldn't be too worried, there is no pressure there and some of the Remington factory police forends (wood ones) have a slot right down the middle to allow for a tighter fit. This allows the forend to flex a little if the tube to forend fit is a little tight.

Just ahead of where the action bars are attached, it is split.

Normal ? , Nothing to worry about ?

I bought it at a gun show, still sealed in the plastic bag, I know it had never been used, it came this way.

I contacted Canada Ammo to see if I could buy one. I am awaiting a reply.

I wouldn't worry about that. As mentioned, most Remington wood stocks have a slit there that runs the full length.

In installing an ATI aluminum fore end on my 870 I had to cut through both plastic bushings at the same point as the crack you show. That is not a critical problem as the tube is held between the shoulders created by the action bars and the plastic casting under the fore end tube nut.

well now I have to buy the dlask tactical one so I can put a foregrip on! prolly save my thumb

Any body got a good technique to remove that front grip. (I did remove the nut and tried pulling without success.)
I picked up the dlask one, but cant remove the original one.
