hey guys I really really need help finding an m&p sear housing block with no integral safety and no magazine safety in canada or from someone who will ship to canada, brownells doesn't have it I checked. midway has it on their site for reference.

h ttp://www.midwayusa.com/product/546264/smith-and-wesson-sear-housing-block-without-integral-lock-and-magazine-safety-s-and-w-m-and-p-m-and-p-compact-9mm-luger-357-sig-40-s-and-w

Can you not simply remove those items from the existing block? I upgraded the block on my M&P Pro with a block from Brownells. It had an extra do-dad lever (mag safety I beleive) that the original block didn't have so I removed it.

I'll call murray charlton on monday. its a specific housing I need that will fit the apex tactical RAM. this seems to be the only housing that has the hole for the ram and doesnt have the mag safety or integral safety but apparently s&w doesnt make it anymore. I'd really rather not screw around with removing things that are meant to be there, I'd rather just purchase the proper one that is designed for what I need.

called apex tactical and they said that all I need to do is purchase the one with no integral safety that has magazine disconnect and remove the mag disconnect and the apex ram and spring fit it where the disconnect would go. brownells only has the one for .45 though

I don't know what the issue is. Remove the mag safety lever and stock spring and replace the spring with a spring from a ball point pen. There are videos on youtube on how to do it. Easy peasey. You don't need to replace the sear block.

As an aside I think the Apex RAM is a waste of money but that is just me.

ps I have the RAM in two of my M&P;s. I defy anyone to tell me which two when firing all four.

my problem is my sear housing that came with my m&p doesnt have a mag safety or a hole for one.

Are any APEX mods worth it? I shoot pretty much POA with my M&P 9mm at 10-15 yards consistently. It takes some work vs my 1911 mind you, but definitely do-able..

How good are these mods?

There is no hole for a mag safety. The yellow lever in the picture is the mag disconnect lever. You have remove it to eliminate the mag disconnect feature. You then reinstall the block using a longer spring to replace the thickness of the lever. Go to youtube there should be a video there on how to remove the disconect lever.

There are only two designs of sear blocks. One has a larger diameter hole for a larger sear spring. Otherwise the blocks themselves are all the same.

The apex kits give you a much better trigger feel.

The Duty Kit will give you a 5#+ pull. The Competition Kit will give you a 2.5# - 3# pull. The FSS Trigger Kit will give you a 4.5# pull and a very short reset. All three will be much smoother due to the Apex USB that comes with the kit. I found the Apex RAM not much use but some like it. I don't care for the FSS Trigger as I find it comfortable to shoot with in the cold with major 40 loads. I have girly finger tips due to a case of shingles in my hands a couple of years ago.

so where does the RAM install? and how come the one I posted on midway has the yellow lever but says Smith & Wesson Sear Housing Block "without Integral Lock and Magazine Safety"

The Yellow lever is NOT the mag disconnector, it's the sear drop (takedown) lever - the sear block shown doesn't have a magazine safety on it.
thats what I thought, thanks for clarifying. there seems to be a lot of people giving wrong information here. to my knowledge there are 5 different types of sear blocks for the m&p 9mm. one is the older one that has the small sear spring. theres a standard one which has integral safety and magazine disconnect (integral safety cannot be removed but mag d/c can) theres one with no integral safety but still has a mag d/c. theres one with no integral safety and no magazine d/c but also no hole for the apex m&p RAM (which is the one I have) and then theres the one on midway that I posted that has no integral safety no mag d/c and has the hole for the apex RAM.

Where did you guys get your Apex trigger kit from? I have looked on Brownells but for the whole thing you would have to make 2 or more orders to stay under the 100 dollar shipping limit.
