Where can I buy a T-grip for S&W Revolver?

Hi Guys,

I am looking for a Tyler T-Grip for my S&W K Frame revolver (see picture: the additional "filler" piece attached to the front side of the grip). I tried ordering one from Tyler Manufacturing themselves (in the U.S.), but they told me that they make everything on order, so it takes them 4 weeks to make one, and another 3 weeks to ship to me in Vancouver.

I can't wait that long. Life is so short......

Could anybody tell me where I can find one of these in Canada? Or does anybody has a spare one that I can buy?

I looked for one for months before ordering one from the U.S. During my search I found all kinds made for Colts but none for S&W.

What is "PM"?

And yes, the purpose of this T-Grip is to make the grip more comfortable and the gun more stable in your hands while maintaining the original look of the gun.

I don't like those monogrips although they make a lot of sense.

I'm assuming PM means Pachmayr. They also made a line of similar adapters years ago.

The T-grips really work to make the gun more comfortable while maintaining the gun's original look.
 
I don't know a source for the Tyler T-grips but I wish I did. I have an aluminum one on my S&W HandEjector .455 and it sure helps with the grip.... if you find a [Canadian/local] source please send me a PM [personal message] as I'm trying to find one for a S&W "K" frame as well.

I'm a big fan of "Tyler T-Grips" and Barami "Hip Grips" as well. Both products are still available new online.. I think Tyler is located at Oklahoma City, Ok., but I don't know where Barami is located.

I found the original Tyler T-grip for my pre-40 Centennial on EBAY.. It wasn't expensive, in fact less than buying one of the newly produced ones from Tyler. I think I paid in the $15.00 (US) range.

It is my opinion, and it seems that of most folks I know who have revolvers with Tyler's on them that they indeed make gripping the revolver much better. Many years ago S&W made their own version of the T-grip, but it was never as popular as the Tyler.

I will eventually get around to replacing the shiny T-grips on my two Colt Cobras with dark ones, but I had these just laying around so I used them.

Seems there are very few things you can add to a firearm that really enhances the way it feels, shoots, or looks at a reasonable price. IMO both the Tyler T-grip or the Barami Hip Grips are two of them....

If you have one extra (for K Frame square butt), I would be glad to pay $20+ to buy it from you. Even aluminum ones because I can figure out a way to blacken it.......

Why do I sound so desperate? ..........

From the chart they have posted on their website it appears you would be looking for the Order # 20B/size 3. (Black/D frame). $25.00 US

You didn't mention what revolver you were getting them for, so you would have to speak to someone there, or write them and explain specifically which firearm you needed the grips for.

There was a mention of "shiny black", or "flat black", but I didn't see a different part order number regarding that.

I don't see why you couldn't order a set and have them sent to you in Canada. These are not "gun parts" by any normal stretch of the imagination.

I don't know how strict the import laws are for such things, but they are making Tyler T grips every day, and I suggest you just research the laws regarding such things, and if possible just order a set..

A suggestion. If you are able to order a set I would recommend you buy another set or two for any revolver you might consider putting them on at a later date. This way you will save shipping expenses, and even if you don't need the extras perhaps there is a legal way to give them to a friend who might need a set.

You will be very happy with the results after adding a set of Tyler T-grips, they really do make a difference.. Hey, they look good too..:dancingbanana:

Sorry, I missed the fact that you have already tried ordering from Tyler.. I still think your best option if you want a Tyler T-Grip bad enough you should just order from them, bite the bullet, pay whatever reasonable amount it costs, and suffer over the long period it takes to get it to you.

I don't understand why Tyler can't just send you a stock T-grip unless they simply don't have any of the model you need right now.

The only T-grips I've ever had, or needed, are snubby's such as my J-frame Smiths, or D frame Colts.
