I am looking for a Norinco or Dominion 1887 clone with a long 28 or 30 inch barrel and full choke for lead shot. I have seen them before but they seem to have dropped off the radar. Does anyone know what i am talking about?

I bought mine a few years ago from Lever Arms. 28" barrel fixed Modified if I'm not mistaken. They seem to be out of them now.

You got two markets: cowboy action, and T2 fans. They don't have a stellar reputation for the cow-pokes; I don't compete but it's been working pretty good for me just for fun. I think they don't sell quick based on that, so they're not importing too many in full length.

The sale price on the Arnie-styled choppers at Canada Ammo is pretty good. I got one of those extra stub grips too, but it's quite un-balanced with the complete barrel!

I have one of the 1887's from Lever arms, good shotgun with well refined action, 28" cylinder bore as far as I know but patterns well and has good range but is hard to aim, you have to hover your head well over the rear stock to hit things.

I also had the short barrel 1887 with full and small stock from Canada Ammo, hard to aim and short range only also I had to take it apart and spend 4 hours cleaning up the action due to lack of cleaning up the mating surfaces after casting.

As of last I checked the lever arm ones are sold out but if they come in again get one, you won't regret it.

I was just looking at a norinco version of one of these (short one). It is total piece of crap. Same quality as one of my cast cap guns from my childhood. Would only cycle if you absolutely reefed on it as hard as possible. Run, don't walk.

One of my concerns about the Chinese ones is that to build one of these you need to carefully notch the bottom of the barrel where the screws cross between the magazine and the barrel. One of mine has a slight cut, the other had a huge cut. Neither blew up but just saying there's got to be some point where you notch too far and the barrel splits in time right?
