Anyhow, I saw one at Gunco about a month ago. He had a Mosin Nagant 38 and Mosin Nagant 44. Gunco is in Ottawa.

The Gunco one isn't an M38. It's a Polish M44 with the bayonet removed.

If you men a soviet M38 (not a swede). P&S has two, both are import marked. Tradex has a few left that are not import marked, but are probably getting to the bottom of the bbl at this point.

SIR may have some, but I doubt it. I think they only have M44 and 91.30 right now.

Bottom of the barrel quality wise, or there just aren't many left?

There just probably aren't many left. I have no idea what the quality of remaining carbines is.
