Where can I find the screw set for remington 700 BDL short action?

You mean the front and rear action screws? If so, try some gunsmiths, they should have some just lying around. The screws are 1/4-28, so specialty hardware stores will carry them too.

Sorry about that, I am not trying to be cute or tricky. Tricky I could probably manage, cute - not so much.

I see so many times a reference to try your hardware store for a gun screw... and in over 50 years I have never found a screw at a hardware store that actually fit in a gun... so I said, I have never seen a hardware screw with a correct head that fit properly.

I have none to sell and don't know where to recommend buying...
 
I think Brownells carried them in slotted or allen head. They were oversize in length so were meant to be cut to fit. Often on backorder or sold out though.

I needed a couple of them too. I had to have the stainless original factory action screws (front and rear) for a BDL bottom metal setup. Online Shopping at Gravel Agency (board sponsor) is really easy to do. Their software and shopping cart is straightforward. They take your credit card and are really good at sending a tracking number. They are no slouch(es) that’s for sure.

And yeah, that’s me who has a bunch of them for the aftermarket bottom metal(s). Many times I’ve sold these aftermarket ‘socket head cap screws’ to folks looking for factory / original units and they didn’t quite read my entire post. Oh well.... :rolleyes:

So there, you have options......I’m just grateful we have many of them out there.
