I am looking for a bright green in particular 10/22 stock (or even maybe a dull green like the Sig Classic Green). Are there synthetics out there that come in specified colours, or is there a blank stock I can buy and then spraypaint? It's for the standard barrel profile.

Just go out and pick out the colour you want (spray can) and pick up a plastic primer. Lightly sand the stock and clean it with acetone or similar.

Prime the stock and let it dry for a few hours, then paint it with light even coats of your colour choice. Just be careful around the 'corners' and tight areas that you want to get the paint into - it's easy to get too much on it and have the paint run. After two or three coats of colour, then use a clear coat to seal it. I prefer a matte clear, but you might want a glossy finish. Just use a clear in the same 'brand name' as the colour you chose.

Good luck and post some pictures when you're done.

Here is a stock I made, and spray painted it gold/magenta. It has some green tones to it ... ;)

My point is, you could quite easily do the same in green.

There is a Canadian importer for Boyds, they're in Edmonton. Just a warning though I ordered a stock and barrel combo almost 6 months ago and I never got it. Fortunately that's a good thing as my interests have changed since then. So I never called them up, I figured I'd save the $300 and put it towards something else.

As for those plastic stocks. Ya oh boy it comes in plastic army man green, grey and tan. Pretty Fugly and I don't want to feel like I'm 6 again playing in the sandbox with my plastic toy solders.
The first 10/22 stock marketted for the 6-11 year olds.
They just need to add a big warning: choking hazard and it would be perfect. Maybe next year they'll introduce the deluxe "Sarge" model.
