Where can you buy "Whitetail Institute Clover" in Ontario (or canada).

The Whitetail Institute website is down and I dont think they list retailer anyways. Where can a guy buy this stuff or a similar product in Ontario?

site is up...I did a 5 acre plot of the clover and this will be year 3 for it.....I got them to send me the "free" sample pack first and it cost me $40 shipping but it was worth it. The samples only get you about 10x10 but I needed to test it first. There is another place in Quebec and I met the guy last week but I had a helluva time understanding him. I can get you that stuff if you like. They sell it here in Alberta.

Why import some exotic tasting deer food, when domestic white or red clover will be closer to what the deer are used to?

Ritchie Feed and Seed in Ottawa sold me some clover a while ago when a beekeeper relative in Saskatchewan needed some. A 5 lb bag was quite expensive compared to grass seed, but he figured that was what he wanted, and he'd put me on deer in the past ....

Try ... bishopseeds.ca ...you know, the www thingy.

Full range of seed & forage products as well as technical back-up & advice suited to Ontariario soils & growing seasons.

Does anyone know if it's legal in BC to seed areas with this stuff? Like heading out on some crown land and seeding a section here and there? Doesn't seem like it would be, could be considered baiting, but I could be wrong.

Stuff is legal in BC, they have a "No-plow" version that would work great for the crown land also have a "Extreme" seed that does well in low pH soils.

Found a good source for both the Whitetail Institute stuff and the Bishop's Seed. Bass Haven in Mitchell's Bay, www.basshavencanada.com

Where are you getting it Huntinstuff? Is it growing well for you?

I am putting a new food plot in this year with the Whitetail Institute product... they have it at the local gunstore down here now... PM me for the contact info if you want.
I was less than impressed with the Biologic I used last year. It worked well in the spring and summer but the plots were finished by early fall.
The Bishops is going back in the original plots for sure, almost 20 acres of Bishops this year again.
I will let you know how the Whitetail Institute stuff progresses.

In areas where there is lots of agriculture planting regular grain crops in small plots is a waste of time and money. Why would deer come to your tiny plot of grain when there is hundreds of acres of it over the hill?
Commercial cash crop seed will not do well without herbicide and fertilizer to start with and it is an annual plant that matures once in a very short window of opportunity. So the usefullness of your plot has been seriously limited for management and hunting purposes.
Do your research and find out what will grow, attract and keep the wildlife in your area all season and next season too!
