Do anyone know where in Canada there is one stocked and ready for sale sig 550 civilian that is non-restricted?

Allow me to clarify something. The Sig 550 series is prohibited in Canada.
What you need is the SIG PE-90 that is non restriced. The Sig PE-90 is also known as the, Black Special,
the Green special and a couple of other colors that I'm not too crazy about.

Site sponsors like the "The Shooting Edge" have that product available and so does CGN's EE forum from time to time.

Hope this helps :)

umm PE-90? what is the difference between the PE-90 and a Sig 556 (civ model)?
I mean in US they are called 556...

Also what i ment is, do anyone know that a local gun shop carries one of these, as all the places i've asked say they are out of order and is on special order or something....

The difference is technical, but they ARE NOT the same firearm, I'll leave it at that. The 556 is a US-made "copy" of a 550 upper with a newly designed lower, it was a compromise because the Swiss parent company to SIGArms did not want them to manufacture the 550 and it is generally a very disappointing firearm. Thank God it's not available here, and it won't be, so don't ask about it.

Local? Local to where? You didn't even fill out your profile or location. Save the PST and buy directly from The Shooting Edge in Alberta, if you're looking to get the non-restricted rifle version they can ship immediately providing they have them in stock.

Well local as to local to your place of residence, and i'll try contacting the shooting edge and see if they have one in stock, wolverine didn't have one so i assumed that most places that are online and is available to the public is sold out due to high publicity....

Not high publicity, the Swiss Arms rifles have been in Canada for years, the problem is they only come in small batches. Check with TSE, they are the Canadian importer and can tell you when they might expect the next shipment and what rifle sizes ( Non-restricted or the 2 restricted sizes) they are expecting. Hope this helps.

well second hand then, if someone had to sell their PE-90 (phew for correction on the 556 :D) then it'd be to a local store or private transfer, so i'm hoping that one of these shows up at your local dealer, just hoping that someone will keep an eye out for me (i'm in northern Ontario, and the gun shop in town don't have too many exotic stuff...)

Have you considered getting the shorter version (same price)?

Well I'm hoping to hunt with it, so the shorter version is a hindrance than anything, also if i need to "target shoot within 25m" then the tavor should be a better buy with its smaller swing radius, which I'm hoping that i won't need to the crime rate in CA is far too low I'd think...

Than again, people in Tampico during the Mexican revolution didn't think that they were going to be attacked either...
