Looking for some land to shoot coyotes on around Edmonton, and I was sure I had a link to an online map of crown land, but can not seem to find one now.

If anyone could help me out that would be great.

Also if you want to PM instead that would be ok too.

You may need to go to the local LIMS (registry of deeds) office. I'm not sure about west of Nova Scotia, but here DNR of LIMS will get you all the info you need.

.

you may want to get call the (strathcona) county office or whatever county your after and ask for a landowner map of that area. it is also known as a LD or LLD map (legal land description) it will identify roads, crown, private and county owned lands. take a green hiliter and identify bushes and red for hotspots. keep phone numbers and contact dates with landowners for permission on the map, it counts as a written permisison.
.
impossible to know whats what without it. usually about 10$.
it is the first place i stop when im in a new area, i must have 20 different maps.

Maptown would have just about any kind of map that you would ever want, and there staff is knowledgeable. They also have a website I think.

The tax department of each md has landowner maps that id owners and crown land. It is never up to date but it is close. They cost $15.00 to $30.00 Call the county, md, or municiple office for copies of land owner maps.

Try these places

For landowner maps.
Ask for the land owner maps and it is a good time to ask about discharge of firearms on crown, county, and private land. Strathcona county does have restrictions on what guns you can use.

I used to hunt on Crown, municipal, and private land in Parkland, strugeon, and lamont. THe Blackfoot grazing reserve (by Elk Island) had some areas the public could hunt as well during the 1970s.
There were no issues coyote hunting or bird hunting in season in parkland county - you just had to identify where all of the acreages were and had to be extremely careful to make sure your bullet stopped within your sight. That may have changed since the 1970s.

Thanks everyone, Maptown said they have maps that will help me, cost about 180 bucks for the Edmonton surrounding area though, but oh well.

Thanks,

Not sure I can make sense of what I am looking at on those sites though.

These are the websites of the local municipal governments. They collect the taxes and have up to date lists of who currently owns land. They also usually will have landowner maps for sale to the public.
Get a phone number, call each municipal office and ask if municipal maps showing landowners are available. Not everything is on the internet my friend.
