Alright so towards the end of the summer last year I could not find any standard 30-06 ammo in any store around where I live (just outside of Montreal) only thing left was match ammo that is really pricey for simply going to the range. So I shot what I had left and that was it. Now roughly 5 months have past since then and once again today at my local stores I cannot find any Remington core locked or Winchester super X standard 30-06 only the pricier silver tip and what not at 35$ plus for a box of 20. I checked online as well with all the site sponsors and no one has any of the affordable stuff in stock either. So where do you buy your ammo if you didn't have a bunch of it stored up? Thanks for any help.

I have a couple hundred of old factory loaded Remington 150gr (1988 manufacture by the box apparently) I bought years ago at a gun show in bulk for very cheap.
I have been shooting it sparingly.
I have all components necessary to start reloading bulk copy of the M2 service cartridge. Which is what I will do once the last of my old Remington factory runs out.
I only own one rifle in the cartridge. A literally brand new condition 1903A3. The price of new factory .30-06 is insane and I won't play ball lol
I have 500 150gr FMJ projectiles, a couple hundred once fired brass, primers, IMR4895 ready to go as soon as it's gone.
That's about the only way to get .30-06 at anywhere near a reasonable price Sir, especially if you plan on shooting lots. Hope that helps.

Thank you for your replies! Where do you get your reloading supplies? Online or a local store? I'd like to look into the reloading option but not sure if I will be able to get all the supplies easily.

The basic stuff like dies, case trimmer, simple press are all over the EE for dirt cheap.
There's gads of it. I didn't go crazy expensive because I'm not making match precision ammunition just plan on slamming out M2 Ball copies at a medium rate once my current lucky find amount is shot.
Powder is expensive as hell. When you find it for a good price, buy it and store it. Everything else is readily available mostly.
I am keeping my once fired casings. But every trip out to the bush or gun club, I pick up another 20-30 from the ground that are in fine shape!

I pick up a box anywhere I see it on sale. I don't care if they are fancy bullets as any good 180 grain .30-06 will do for most applications.

Well then I guess I am in a bad spot for a shortage, I did a total of 5 local stores around where I live and only Walmart had a few boxes of regular 30-06 that were 6 to 8$ a box more then last summer. What online store do you guys buy your reloading supplies from??

A great deal depends on what you call 'affordable'. However, this time of year, .30-06 hunting ammo is in low demand and won't be cheap anywhere.
Le Barons shows Remington ammo at $31 and change per 20. No mention of not having any, but the site was updated in January.
Something is going on at Winchester. Nearly all of their stuff is on backorder at most of the U.S. sites and has been for months.
Buying components on-line gets expensive quickly. Shipping costs, that are not set by the seller, will negate any online savings.
