I am looking for 147-150 grain FMJ for my Garand. It needs to be Garand-spec or it could damage the op-rod. Does anyone sell .30_06 appropriate for the Garand? I don't reload or have time to reload right now so I need to purchase factory ammunition.

I do believe the 150FMJ offerings from Federal (American Eagle) and Remington (UMC) are spec to the Garand.
And if you can find any of the PMC FMJ stuff it's bang on Garand Spec.
I am not currently aware of any surplus ammo in any great quantity currently available.

Yup, I hear you. The 147gr FMJ bullet is almost identical to the 150gr (?) M2 ball. Federal/Remington/Winchester/Eagle all sell generic box blaster ammo with that bullet. Save the brass for when you get around to reloading.

And, the US ammo market is so big and so powerful that absolutely every single 30-06 round that hits the international surplus market goes there. I doubt if there has been surplus 30-06 in Canada for 10 years. So if you see any quantity of one lot at the gunshows, SNAG IT!

Lucky me - six months ago I found 2500rds of Greek 30-06 in my basement that I had forgotten about - it was buried in the corner under lots of junk. I got the stuff before the silly export ban on ammo from the U.S.. Now I don't have to convert my Garand to .308 (or not yet anyways).

You can pick up a ton of the stuff in Malta. I just have a bunch brought in with my regular containers.

Like the 'Republic of Malta' in the Mediterranean Sea? If yes, what does it cost to land that stuff in Canada?

I've just paid the taxes on the declared value $2.35US per 20 rounds.

I just do the 5000 rounds at a time thing to avoid the BS.

What kind of volume were you guys thinking of?

That certainly is a decent price. I would be content on a 5000rd lot also at that price.

Halifax is totally easy, I have an office there and the ships dock there, we may be able to help out the east coasters.....
