Been asked a few times to post pics of where I shoot so here it is.
The pic shows part of the flat I usually shot at. The clear area on the hill to the right of the pic has a variety of boulders and dirt clumps that are fun to plink at and make spotting easy (puff of dust).
The base is 588yds from where this pic was taken. You can shoot to 1000yds at the treeline at the top of this first hill. Was shooting to 800yds today just to check rifle and load.
As you can tell, shooting the other clearings in the hills behind allow for some pretty long shots. The longest I have shot here is 1800m or just under 2000yds. Yes, you have time to spot your own hits
Today was a great calm day. Sometimes the winds roar in here. Gets nasty and you really appreciate high BC and high velocity if you plan on hitting anything smaller then a milk jug.

What was I shooting? My almost box stock Savage 110 in 7RM that I have been yipping about. Orig black plastic stock. No issue with function. Pretty well...did I say it was functional?
Scope a Bushnell elite 4200 6X24 with mil dots, burris rings w/ inserts. Shimmed so that I am at full down and still dead on a 200yds. No issue dialing up to 1000m. With the mildots I should be able to reach 1500yds, maybe further. Will see once hunting season quietens down.

Yes, with proper bedding, aftermarket trigger (I like a light trigger), and a muzzle brake, it is very comfortable to shoot and very accurate (162gr Amax going over 3100fps). These rifles can shoot.
For those with good observation, that is a barrel in that blue wrap. Shilen Select match SS fluted barrel with muzzle brake. Was orig set up for a Rem700 in 7RUM. Not sure what I am going to build.
Final pic is of the Micaluk AR15 brake. Very effective brake. One of the best deals in brakes I have found.

Enjoy guys and I hope more get inspired to let their rifles stretch their legs a little.

PS It is still legal to shoot on crown land....just know where your bullets are going to land.
