I've finally found my rifles preferred load (I shouldn't say finally... it happened luckily very quickly :)

I'm wondering if anywhere in Canada sells Horandy VMAX bullets in 1000 counts (55g)? I've been buying 100 at a time - my local store only carries a few boxes at a time it seems.

Thanks

Then it might like the 53 grain v max which has a higher b.c than the 55 grain vmax :)

more in marketing than reality

Real world :

50gr Vmax - .215 G1
52gr ELD M - .242 G1
53gr Vmax - .254 G1
55gr Vmax - .234 G1

Hornady offers 250ct boxes of the 55gr Vmax, part # 22716

I’m slowly strong reloading gear together for my 223’s. What’s the cheapest you guys are loading per shot with today’s prices on powder, bullets...etc..

Probably about 20 cents per round, Mike. Campro 55gr, cheap bulk ball powder, and cheapest SRP available.

I should add that we tend to not include the cost of cleaning the brass twice, and the resize die lube.

A soft point (or hollow point) bullet would be a lot more accurate than a FMJ. That $125 /1000 for SP is a good price for a very accurate bullet (if accuracy matters to you.)

I shot these groups today from my AR-15. The 62g soft point shot much better than the 55 gr FMJ. Same rifle. 100 yards
