I'm considering changing to a different powder because of the shortage of Varget for My 308! I can't seem to find any 7 or 8lb tubs. Did Australia quit making it? Are other people across Canada having the same problem finding it?

Its the time of year when everyone down here buys their supplies for loading over the winter. Add to that the results of the recent presidential election, which I think has caused some hording to occur (it certainly looks like that is happening). There is a shortage of it down here too and they will always serve the US market before the Canadian one.

In the 5 phone calls I made the word is some will be coming in late Dec to mid Jan, I was hoping to reload some ammo now while its cold out. When I am able to order I will be ordering 20+ pounds of it. I use it in my 223, 308 and 30-30. I'm hesitant to use up the last 1/4 pound of it I have.
I want it in bulk not $28+ 1lb bottles.
Yes there is other options, maybe I will have to try a few of them.

Ahhhhh, right where I left my beloved Varget.
Basement is a great hiding spot for powder......
I want 20+ pounds of the stuff. I will take it all and dump it into a large metal can and mix it all together. Then I pour it back into the jugs and go through the process of finding the bullet powder combo the gun likes. Then I know that for the next while I will have no Point Off Impact surprises, using the same bullet, the same day target shooting.
In most cases if you change something it changes the POI, thats why I want 20+lbs, all same lot # . I have 5000 large rifle primers, same lot, I am waiting for a bullet shipment to arrive, same lot. I do all this so its easier to hit the same spot!! Thats the hope anyway.

Someone else is hoarding the 210M's too? I am still working my way through the two cases I bought just before they disappeared.
When they are more than gold, I'll still be hoarding, its in a reloaders nature!
