I just acquired a Beretta BL3 O/U (12 gauge, 3 inch chamber).
It's an older one, in nice shape.

It's my first O/U. Bear with me for such a newb question, but how do I choose which barrel fires first? There is a safety switch on the tang, and on the underside, there is a small 'wheel' which is embedded.

I would appreciate some input. If it stops raining here, I may get out today or tomorrow to try it out.

Also, any thoughts on where I could buy a Beretta recoil pad would also be appreciated (the one that is on there is past its 'best before date'.

Thanks for the input.
Cheers

Howdy!
The barrel selector is on top if the safety, there should be a single dot, and if you move the switch to the right, there should be two dots.
This designates the bottom or top barrels.

Thanks Cat
It quit raining here so we managed to get out and bust some clays.
We discovered that the safety moves side to side and that designates what barrel shoots first. Also, when you break it and then close it, the safety engages automatically.

Overall, we are very pleased with the gun, it's a real pleasure to shoot.
Great way to spend a Sunday afternoon with my son!

Cheers
