Hey folks,

I happen to be in Edmonton on business. As I was driving up Hwy #2, I saw the sign to the Edmonton Gun Club. It looked like it should be near the Nisku exit. Any directions? I thought that there was only the "Strathcona range out here. Is it the same place?

They are different clubs. The Edmonton Gun Club is an ATA member. I've never shot there. I often shoot when I'm visting Edmonton but have only used the Strathcona club. They have international trap as well as regular trap, 5 stand sporting clays, and skeet. A $5 drop in fee for non members and their hours are much better for visitors from what I've experienced. To get there from Calgary Trail you go east on the Whitemud Freeway to 50th Street and south until you run out of houses. Its only about a mile past the houses on the left. Too bad the city is shutting them down.

an easier way to get to strathcona is from calgary trail take the exit to ellerslie road east then follow it to 50th street and turn left going north, it will be in the feild to your right about a 30 seconds up the road by the bridge construction. if you hit the houses you went too far and if that happens pick me up a six pack at the store and drop it off on my step. lol

To get to the Edmonton range from highway #2, take the Nisku overpass and go west on highway #19. Follow the signs - it is about a mile south off #19, just west of the racetrack. They shoot Tuesday evenings from April to September or so.

i do beleive they shot ATA trap out at spruce grove along with a 5 or 6 stand sporting clay range but i could stand corrected on the sporting clays.
