Where is the t97nsr made?

A quick search shows you're technically correct. Made by EMEI but exported to Canada by Norinco. EMEI is likely a state run company, and does similar work as Norinco.

Emei is part of a large conglomerate which includes jianshe machine tooling, aka factory 296 with marking /26\. Emei has a history of making air rifles.

Actually EMEI belong to Jianshe factory made firearms for civilian market. Like couple years ago Marstar import EM332 bolt action rifle.

"Norinco" makes nothing (except money) - it is a marketing entity. It started as the NORrthern INdustrial COoperative. It's initial purpose was to distribute weapons made by various factories in Northern China to revolutionary groups in South East Asia, and the Philippines.

EMEI is a name of moutain located in Sichuan, and also used as a name of fatory located in Chongqing.

Norinco is one of China's biggest companies. They are like GE. They make everything from jet engines to bad TV. Like GE, they do it through subsidiaries. Which means they actually make nothing...
