Hey All

I am starting a 10/22 Bench Rifle build and I am wondering who I can buy parts from in Canada?

In particular, I am looking for High-End Laminate and/or Wood Stocks. Also, if anyone has any advice on the best barrel, that would be helpful.

Thanks

bits of pieces in BC for stocks and barrels. Green Mountain barrels are just dandy. So are dlask barrels and they're made in canada. You could also contact mystic precision or hical. Both are cgn users.

Boyds Gunstocks will ship sub-$100 orders to Canada. They currently have 22 stocks (4 models, various colours) for the 10/22, all between $92 and $99 before shipping.

wilder, have you purchased anything from Boyd's?
I am asking because im looking into getting one of their stocks for my 10/22 im just wondering if they have any additional charges other than the shipping.

I have bought a couple of stocks from boyds. No extra charges, quick to ship, fit and finish are very good. I am going to be buying another right away when the ross feather lights are back in stock.

You didnt even have to pay GST? just the shipping on the stock. Correct?

Thanks a bunch man, now the only hurtle left in this epic journey of getting an aftermarket stock is to convince my dad so i can use his credit card. lol

I know for sure that I did not pay duty or brokerage fees, been a while dont think I paided GST, I think the stock was 99 dollars plus shipping the total was around 130.00.

Occasionally there will be a customs charge, I find they are more active with this charge during the holiday season as more people are ordering gifts from the US by mail. It's usually around $20 for $100 order (not accounting for shipping charges) and does include GST.

I believe you can claim a portion of it back from customs but I have heard it is a pain in the ass and probably not worth the effort to retrieve the small amount, of course this is what the Govt is counting on, so maybe it becomes a matter of principle if you want to bother with claiming it.

You can't go wrong with a Kidd trigger from Fabsports in Montreal. Boyd's shipping will likely set you back $40 (to Ontario at any rate) - a friend just got one and he was also dinged with HST. The forearm on their SS Evolution is great for offhand shooting but would you'll probably find it is too rounded and tapered for good benchrest performance.

I ordered the Blaster in Sky (blue/gray) and it arrived yesterday with the worst case scenario: $13 in tax and $8.50 handling fee paid to the Canada Post rep. That's still more than $50 cheaper than the best Canadian sourced price I could find on a similar style.

The finish is excellent, a nice smooth satin. Inletting is a much tighter fit than the original wood stock, but I still had to put a small rubber pad just ahead of the v-block to eliminate rocking front to back. Length of pull is increased only by removing the radius of the shoulder (flat rubber vs. curved plastic). Nice grip for both hands and the cheek piece is nice and high for my longish neck. So far, I like it.

The problem is that I just sent my trigger group out for work, so I won't be able to shoot for a couple weeks. Gives me some time to play with bedding, I guess.

Awesome. I too am planning on ordering the blaster. Although i think that i am going to get the Royal Jacaranda colouration. Did you have to pay the handling fee as it was being given to you? or was it just automatically billed with the shipping?

Or in my case to the person with the scanner who dropped the package off. She just entered the CC info into the device and I was all set.

Anybody want to help me find a silver Weaver rail for a 10/22? I'm having a little trouble with that one. Mine is old enough it only came with the tip-off/dovetail style rail.

Got mine off ebay around 15.00 shipped.Came from a dealer in california.

Be careful as they are ITAR controlled now, opticsplanet cancelled my order for one. NC Star makes one but the bolt holes are a little out of spec. You can still install it but its kinda annoying. Its the same as the factory ruger rail except with more weaver slots than the original 2.

Re: the rail - Apparently Brownells will ship sub $100 orders to Canada. Maybe I'll give them a try.

Re: Boyds stock - give them a call. The one I ordered was a backorder item when I ordered it and is still listed that way. Seems they might have stock that's not listed on the web site.
