where to buy .22LR for cheap?

this is probably a common question, but my brother and I have just passed all our firearm tests and are getting ready to send in the paperwork for processing. where are some good places to buy 4000/5000 round cases of .22LR for cheap? I've a bud who scored some American Eagle in Alberta for $150 when he was there visiting...hopefully something with similar opportunity will fall into my lap. I'm in Kamloops, BC.

any recommendations for stores or websites that sell for a good price would be appreciated.

I'm not afraid to ship as I wouldn't doubt paying $150 for the ammo and then whatever for shipping would still come out to less then the $300ish most .22LR cases sell for locally. :mad:
 
A bud & I ordered 12 cases fr. the local Crapandian Tire last year , no problem except they sold 2 cases as regular inventory before we told them it was our "order" . No shipping involved just reg price & h-ated s-ales t-ax
 
Wholesale Sports. They do internet mail order and have a store in Kamloops I believe. I buy my ammo from them and get it shipped to my work. You do need you PAL to buy ammo though.
 
Don't buy a case(usually 5,000 rounds) until you have tried a box of as many brands as you can to find the ammo your rifle shoots best. And if you have a semi-auto, it has to reliably cycle the action too. The cost of said ammo means nothing either. Not all .22 ammo will both shoot well and cycle the action of all .22 firearms.
Once you know that, go talk to your local gun shop about ordering a case. Be prepared to pay up front.
"...shipping would still come out to less..." Don't count on it. Shipping costs are determined by the carrier(not the retailer) by weight, distance and the size of the freight. Ammo also has a hazmat fee attached to it too. Shipping costs usually negate any cost savings when buying on-line.

$12.99/500? Really? WSS lists 500 for $23.99. That's like 1/2 price. If so I'm gonna get me sum. Sounds like great ammo and there's nothin' cheaper.

Checked with SIR and if there was a sale or promo it is no longer on.
$18.00/brick when you buy a case of 5000. SIR is still cheaper than WSS, even with GST and shipping to Lethbridge .
 
SIR had American Eagle 400 rounds for $12.99 (38 grain) or 500 rounds (40 grain). That was for the Cabella's grand opening.

Anyone know who does mail order for Lapua or Eley?

Really? I just paid $150 for a brick of Tenex Ultimate ESP and $81 for a brick of Lapua Master. Wal-Mart and Canadian Tire were out of stock on both of these brands:p
