I've got an old west German scope. Where do I get a good set of rings for it to attach to picatinny?

On the other hand, are there any other ways to do it? Like using Burris rings with spacers?

1" scope likely wants 25.4 mm rings. Was posters on CGN that claimed a wrap of electrician tape around a one inch scope body would work in 26 mm rings. I have never tried that. Older Parker Hale rings that end in ".4" are for the 26 mm body scopes - so like RALS.4 or RAHS.4 - but then need the Parker Hale bases to go with those rings. For some time, Weaver made 26 mm rings - will be stamped 1.024"(?) in the bottom of the "saddle". Not sure of any modern maker for 26 mm rings that will fit onto standard picatinny rails - had read there were inserts available to shim down from 30 mm rings - I am not sure just now if any were to go to 26 mm - I think most that I saw were to 1" / 25.4 mm.

I have two scopes that body size - one is now in Leupold STD rings made for 26 mm, and other to be mounted in Parker Hale rings, if I can ever figure out how to make their "B" width bases. As I discovered - 26 mm rings today, a lot like "hen's teeth" ... The Kahles scopes on Canadian C3 sniper rifles were 26 mm - they used both RALS.4 and RAHS.4 Rings, depending on shooter's preference - with Parker Hale bases - all changed out when Canada "upgraded" to C3A1 sniper rifles.

Enough options for you? That hen has a lot of teeth…

The first scope was a Hensoldt Weitzlar Diatal 4x32, that is old enough it does not have windage turret - needs 26 mm rings with windage adjustment in the mounting system. A previous owner had removed the bottom scope mount rail - bless his soul!! At the time, CGN and others did not suggest many options for that. The second one, is a Hensoldt Diatal-D, which does have windage turret - came with RALS.4 rings - so I will be good on a Mauser 98, as I have "A" width bases for it. But recently came into ARBS rings - so windage adjustable - to go with that first one, I hope - so long as I can come up with the appropriate PH bases for B width - or make them. Going onto a Husqvarna Model 4100. Yeah, matching bases and rings for those 26 mm scopes were like "hen's teeth", including from at least two British "gun stores".
