Hey everyone,

So I am in the market to add a Mosin 91/30 to my Red rifles collection, just wondering where you guys have got some good ones from. I know there are lots of places out there to buy but want some good experiences. It will be for the occasional range trip, so it doesn't need to be necessarily "collector condition", but I would also like it to be good enough to show off to those who care :) Thanks for the input.

Well, being a Mosin-aholic, I don't think you can beat westrifles $160 mosin with free shipping, although they don't include slings IIRC. But I cannot say as I have never purchased from them. The only dealer I bought from was Frontier Firearms, and that was some time ago, but I got an amazing condition rifle for a great price, though they have gone up. All the others I own have been bought off the EE.

Keep in mind that there is ton of scrape metal hiding below $200 mark. Best if you can trust someone to pick one out for you. Local gun shows sometimes are best

I won't knock WestRifle - they're a good, reputable dealer.

But...

I pretty much get all my reds from Corwin-Arms now. Martin knows his stuff, and he travels to the arsenals to hand select what he buys, then babysits them all the way to Canada to make sure no "substitutions" are made. I've gotten a 91/30 and an M38 off him now, and an SKS, and all were in fantastic condition, great shooters.

Both Westrifle and Corwin Arms are the best for Red Rifles... For online shopping I give an edge to Westrifle as you see several pics of the actual rifle you're purchasing.

I bought a nice one from SFRC. Paid for a regular, showed up as a near-mint 1932 Hex Receiver one

Bought my most recent one from Weimajack here on the EE. It was $200 plus a bit of shipping for a 1932 Tula arsenal hex-receiver Mosin in excellent condition.

I took it out shooting Wednesday morning, and I have to say it is by far the most accurate Mosin I have shot. It is dead on at 100 yards without the bayonet on- the gong was ringing like a bell the whole time, and I was shooting offhand.

I bought two Mosin 91/30s over the Christmas Holidays at Canadian Tire . Both are Hex receivers , matching numbers , in perfect condition . A 1927 , and a 1932 . One was made in Romania , the other was a Izzy ; a178 dollars each....

My 91/30 has an as new barrel and a refurbished sniper stock.think it was 200.martin Is awsome to deal with.id rather spend an extra 40 bucks for a good one as opposed to the usual dark bore no rifling last 4 inches of the barrel.just my 2 cents,I'll shut up now.

I have purchased 91/30s and carbines from both Westrifle and Corwin-arms with satisfaction, Martin is a great guy to deal with.

The absolute best place to purchase any military surplus firearm in Canada in my opinion is from weimajack, his service, communication and firearms are excellent, they are always better than described. Here is his 91/30 thread: http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/foru...12-mosin-nagant-1891-30-with-matching-bayonet
