Where to buy a proper pressure canner?

I know them as pressure cooker also, you can often find them at yard sales for a buck or two. We may still have my moms around here, but I can't remember for sure.

Check your local Value Village thrift store - if the weight is missing - one from a smaller cooker will work. We use two - saves a lot of time. Don't shorten the time from the recipe.

You can find them on Fleabay or Amazon, but there are some good suppliers in the USA that you can deal directly with. Be prepared to pay for quality. If you buy something like a Presto, you get what you pay for, made in China cheap junk. Search for the brand All-American, they are amazing pressure canners, but, as I said, expensive. They are built like a brick sh..house. You won't regret it

+1 buy quality you won't be sorry..

I have an ALL AMERICAN 30 quart canner. Holy crap is it awesome!! Don't buy cheap or small. I have been there and done that. I wasted money trying to be cheap. In the end it will save you money to purchase an ALL AMERICAN canner. It is hands down the best quality you can get for your money.

Thanks guys , the all american seems to buy what I'm looking for. I'm in the stage of my life where I appreciate quality. I read a book from Kevin o'leary , he was just saying how buying quality although paying more ... Ends up being the cheap invested way out. Buy once , cry once I guess. On a side note , is there any good canning books/bottling books someone can suggest?

There are some good books out there, but the best recipes are the ones handed down from past generations. Ask some of the older women and youll get recipes that are fantastic.

the all american is the way to go, and amazon.ca has some great deals. Watch out when buying it, check the size and how many manson jars fits in and their size. no need to get a bigger one if all it can do more is fit 2 rows of pints

I have an all american pressure canner. They aren't cheap, but will last a life time! Google all american pressure canners. There is a place out west that sells them. You won't regret buying one.

I’ve had an All American for about 35 years of reasonably constant use. It is freakin’ awesome. They still make the identical high quality units today. Go large, you won’t regret it.

Halfords in Edmonton has them, check out their website, not cheap I was there a week ago 400$ for the small one, I needed a sausage stuffer more then the canner.
