G'day gents. I have been on the hunt for a Sten mag loader. I have had no luck at all. The obvious place to start was the EE, but no success. I then started calling around to dealers and collectors. Again no luck. These used to be a dime a dozen! I am interested in the Canadian issue MK IV. I would settle with another model if nothing arises. I was just looking to keep it historically correct, as the sten is Canadian issue.

this one is the common British issue MK II.

If anyone knows where to purchase one or if you have one personally, please let me know. I have been trying to track one down for my father in law, as a christmas gift.

Thanks Guys

I have several thousand of the mk4 (nicknamed the cricket) for $15 each. The majority of them are Canadian marked, although if you wanted British I have them in the mix as well.

I also have a couple hundred of the box loaders, again Canadian or British marked for $25 each. Your photo shows the bronze handled one. They were strictly British made....I don't think I have seen a Cdn marked one with bronze. The Cdn ones were all Mazak handles.

If you want magazines (pinned to 5 rounds or to zero) or original WW2 Canadian dummy rounds, I have those too.

Shameless plug over. :)

Personally I prefer the mk4. It fits in the pocket better, and is simpler to use. The box loader is bulky, and takes a minute to get used to. But a true collector must have both. It is always neat to see the progression of equipment development during and post war.
