Where to buy an M1 Garand

Im in BC and AB myself and would be very interested in the info .
I have been wanting to get one for a winter project
Any help would be appreciated

I wish I picked one up from P&S last year when they had a bunch of H&R Garands. The price was right and there were lots to choose from. Not a single one listed on their site now. Just goes to show, "If you keep putting things off till tomorrow, one day you will look back and find just a bunch of empty yesterdays". Not sure who said that, but I bet they missed out on $700 Garands too.
Your best bet would be getting access to the Exchange forum here. M1 Rifles that occasionally appear in retail shops don't last long if they're in decent condition. You have to be in the right place, at the right time, with the money.
Marstar recently sold one in "good" condition(they say Overall Good. Not really a great description. Might have a nice stock with a poor barrel) at $750.
They do show up at gun shows, but there is a lot of over priced junk out there. A guy had one, at a local show, a few years back, in Poor condition that he thought was worth $775. More than a bit looney. Same guy wanted $4 each for clips. He lugged his stuff back and forth a lot.
Learn about 'em first.

I just said the same thing to another member, do your research before purchasing one especially if your going to pay $900+ for one. A few years ago I purchased mine at the Calgary gun for $900, from the Wolverine booth, they had about 6-10 that was the most I've seen at one time. Since then I will only see 1-3 through out the show and way over priced, but there is usually 1-2 in the EE reasonably priced.
