where to buy cheap 12g birdshot

The kind of shot your looking for makes a big difference. Steel or Lead shot? Are you hunting upland game bird or waterfowl? If its waterfowl, you cannot use lead shot so that pushes the price up. The last box of steel shot I picked up (6 Shot) was $12.99 per box (Federal Speed-Shok). Bismuth Shot goes even higher at around $18 per box.

for Lead shot if your hunting upland game birds, it can be had for as low as $7.99 per box. I would avoid the Winchester Universal though. I don't know about other peoples experience with it but it always seems to jam up in my pump action every 4th or 5th shot, and its extremely dirty. It takes me 3 times as long to clean my shotgun after i use it compared to other shells.

If your not hunting and just using it to bust clays, then the cheapest would be Federal Top Gun at $6.99 per box if you buy it by the flat at Wholesale Sports, $69.99 per flat.
 
Crappy tire and wall mart $30 for 100 shells. If your gun is picky expect jams
 
I pick up whatever random cheap target load (usually, but not always, Fiochi ) is on sale at Canadian Tire. Usually I can get a case of 10 x 25rd boxes for 99.99... Which gets them down to .25/shell. Sometimes even cheaper.

You can pickup Federal Target Load at around $20 a flat cheaper most places.

That may very well be, I can't recall exactly what I paid, to be honest. Bought a few cases on the cheap last summer, still working my way through it.

Anytime I can get #7.5 or #8 birdshot cost down below the 25cents a shell mark, I buy it up. At that price, I don't mind shooting it.
 
I bought a flat of that Challenger stuff this past summer for clays. My local crappy tire has it for $69.99 all the time. Not a sale price. No issues, always fired and ejected fine.
 
Yup cheap canadian tire stuff works fine in my mossberg.. usually get the challenger case of 250 or the winchester boxes of 100 for about 25 in the states... luckily I live in a border town and get alot of ammo and accessories across the river real cheap
