Where to buy cheap .223?

There is not 223 in the US for $240/1000. That must be an old post. Best you can get down south is about 330/1000 for M193.

I was in NY yesterday.... the one gun shop I visited had 55gr. Win. 223 at $395 per 1000.

Wolf is not approved for import. Not to mention it's not legal to export ammo from the states without a permit.

Reload my friends - it's the way of the future!

You can get 20 round boxes of Remington UMC .223 for $9.50 at Bass Pro. That's $475 for 1000.

I bought 1000 rounds of RUAG from The Shooter's Edge for $599.

"...amazing deals for .223 on American forums..." 10 times the population equals more demand. Plus lower taxes, lower shipping costs, less government interference, etc, etc.

223 brass is cheap and easy to get and there are all kinds of deals on bullets on the EE. I figure I reload for about 1/4 the price of factory loads. I am going to load a whack of 223 during the winter once I have worked up the loads my CZ likes. Woo Hoo! With the 308, 30-30, and 30-06 I should be shooting LOTS of cheaper loads. Life is good and I could care less what the stores are selling the crap for too. This, of course, is just IMHO:)

I've been down to the US almost weekly lately, and haven't seen brass cased 223 for under $100/200 or $400/1000, mostly Prvi Partisan 55gn at that price, and US made ammo costing even more.

Russian steel cased ammo is cheaper, but it is, cheaper. ;)

From the sounds of it, I guess I got a good deal on two big bags of brand new Winchester .223 I bought last week. I payed 250$ for 1000 rounds :D. Yes, this is in Canada. Not sure what the bullet weight is, it didn't say in the ad.

BTW, I bought the last 2 bags:D

'wolf' is not approved for import....Just curious why not ??

From all the problems you hear with Wolf ammo from shooters in the states, why is everyone in Canada so keen on getting the stuff. Its QC is crap, there is not accuracy and do you really want to risk shooting sub-par ammo through a gun when it can kill you?

Wolf ammo is crap, spend some extra money and experience no problems. I saw a bunch of Wolf ammo at the Brandon Gunshow, mostly .223Rem, it was cheap, but I just walked by. Can't seem to get all the horror stories from Wolf ammo out of my head from all the trashing it gets on the US forums.
