I am having a hell of a time trying to find one for a 1911 so I can try IPSC. I have looked at Kirkpatrick online and they are all concealment holsters. Are these ok if worn on your hip? Any help would be appreciated. It will be for a Para/Kimber/Colt

I managed to find a section called Sportmans Holsters. Only problem is the holster looks like it is angled muzzle to the rear. Hard to grasp pistol this way. I have asked them if they can build one with the muzzle a bit forward. I will wait for response. Thanks.

+1 on this, fantastic products and service.

+2, happy customer here. The holsters are not cheap, but, you pay for what you get. these things will outlive you.

I also purchased a couple leather holsters from Galco Holsters before I found the gentleman in Calgary.

I just do not like the look, and feel of plastic on Kydex. Although I will admit I have not tried them out.

There are many, many, excellent choices in gunleather.

Thank you very much Wendell, I am going with Milton Sparks. Great people very friendly:) Seven month wait:( It was nice to get this info from someone in the know.

pennercustomleather.com - why wait 7 months when this guy can make you a custom holster in maybe 2-3 weeks i'm guessing, depending how busy he is. He made 2 holsters, belt and 5 mag holders for me, custom, because i'm left handed, in less than 2 weeks.

x2, buy canadian from a guy who supports the sport.

I checked out his site, thank you. Nice quality stuff?

As much as I like leather holsters, after rolling around the ground on a tactical course where gun, body, equipment gets covered in talcum powder like dust, kydex is so much easier to just spray and clean. Also you won't mind as much when the kydex is scratched/gouged vs. a $150 and up custom leather holster.
