I need to get a sling (tan or olive web type) for my No.4 enfield, and eventually my No.1. I dont really care about originality as both of my enfields are re-dressed sporters with new wood.

I also need to get a k98 sling for use in a Carcano I'm getting (as actual carcano slings seem rare and the italians used k98 slings in some cases anyway), but dont want to have to pay $30 from the states for a repro.

I just need slings for these rifles that are in nice looking condition to keep my collection looking sharp (if a little un-historical).

Where would you guys suggest for no more than $20 per sling in Canada... or does anyone have the above mentioned slings for a reasonable price?

Your local Army Surplus might have some.

I believe that the No4 slings often did double duty in the late 40's early 50's for other webbing straps also. Or may have been mistakenly used as such.:D

I just checked districopr and no luck on either the enfield, nor the carcano.

I have no objections to using ebay, but I find that most are about $25-30 american plus shipping by the time the bidding ens, and I'd think I could find something cheaper or at least within Canada.

I also checked marstar and they have suitable enfield slings but they're been hooribly slow to respond and inflexible toward me in the past so I'd use them only as a last resort in this sort of case.

- Proper WW2 Enfield slings are available at Marstar $15.00

- Repro K98 for $23.00 available at Marstar, originals are at least triple or more on the collector's market

- Rick Reich in the USA has original Carcano slings, no idea on price. ReichTrade@aol.com
