Hi,
I am fairly new to air pistol, I have a Crosman 2240 that as an introduction to air pistol shooting is OK.
But know I would like a better trigger, a better grip , a better sight , a better ....
Where are the best places in Canada to shop for quality 10 m air pistols (new or used)
And if you have any ideas as to what I should buy , feel free to make suggestions
Thanks

Airgun source, Canada shooting supplies and airgun plus are some that carry competition level pistols. For used you can try Canadian airgun forum or put a wtb in the ee. I found my Tau 7 here.

You can also try D&L airguns...

The 2240 - that brings back memories. That was my second air pistol I owned (the first was a Crosman T4) - the 2240 would have been a good one to have my kids learn on it.

Thanks for the info

There are a couple Forums dedicated to more competition focused air guns.

Pilk Guns Target Talk Forum is one. I know I ran across a Canadian one too.

Anyone know if the guy in North Battleford is still doing business?

I'm assuming you're looking for 10M match pistol

Nordic Marksman have Steyr and Anschutz 10M rifles... I'm pretty sure they can bring the air pistols
Tesro is another site sponsor with 10M air pistol.
INTERNATIONAL IMPORTS / NORTH SYLVA, sell Walther and Hammerli

Jocelyn at Cibles Canada Targets used to be the go-to-guy in Canada for air-pistol.
Harvey at Airgunplus sell the Steyrs

-*-*-

Has for what to buy... it depends.
- How much are your planning/expecting to spend?
- How serious are you about 10M?

Personally, I am kind of a fan of the Steyr's... with mechanical trigger.
- The price of some of the new 10M pistol can give people a sticker shock...

Used to be that (just about) everyone started down the 10M path with a IZH46 or TAU7... but they are getting harder to find to find and price sure have gone up.

If you just want to wet your toes, people have had good luck with the Alfa Proj.

If buying used and planning on being competitive, look at the date of the air cylinder. There is a 10 years life-limit on those (if going to bigger match)

If you don't want to take the plunge in PCP... the FWB 65 and 100 are nice options... but finding a nice one to buy at a reasonable price can be a challenge

Pardini had the (IIRC) K-58 as well in a single stroke Pneumatic. I had the CO2 version, which was the K-60. It was simply boring to shoot! Thing could shoot SO much better than I could, just touch the trigger and a hole appeared where the sights were.

There are some pretty decent prices available for really good air pistols that are not really 'top tier competitive', but are still way better shooters than most of the guys holding them.
Great way to enter and try the fit out to see if you like the style of shooting!

Consider a used Walther CP2 or CP3 or one of the similar German made 10 m (Olympic) competition pistols of that generation, powered by liquid C02. Tech-wise, these are one generation behind the current pistols powered by scuba air, but equally accurate for practical purposes, at least until you're ready for national competition. You fill the cylinder (under the barrel) from a red C02 fire extinguisher tank containing liquid C02. 200 shots from one cylinder fill, and the red tank itself lasts for years. The cylinder pressure is only about 400 psi, much less than with the newer pistols filled from a scuba tank, which have to be replaced every 5 years. My Walther CP2 is extremely well made, with anatomical target grip and micrometer sights, very accurate, just under 500 fps, and legal for practice in the back yard. Single shot, of course, with no pumping. Harvey Lavigne at Airguns Plus can replace any seals and springs as required. I picked one up for $350 after spotting it in a local gun store (estate item), paid another $200 to have the seals and springs replaced by Harvey. I've been enjoying it as much as my 22LR target pistols (DES 69 and TOZ35) and the frequent back yard practice is helping me shoot them better. And since it doesn't look like a firearm there's no "replica" issue.
