Where to buy Ruger 22/45 or Browning Buckmark Pistols?

Hi Guys,

I'm looking to buy my first pistol, and I think I've pretty much narrowed it to one of these two. I haven't actually handled a 22/45 yet, but did handle a beautiful Ruger MkIII target model at Proline here in Calgary. I handled a few different Buckmarks at Wholesale Sports and was very impressed with those as well. I think I heard that Calgary Shooting Centre has some 22/45 lite models that I'll go and check out. Do any other Calgary shops have Ruger 22/45's right now?

I'm not asking "which gun is better" since I might actually want to own both at some point, but rather - where to buy? I've heard good things about Ellwood Epps from a friend who has bought several guns from there and their prices are decent. But who actually has 22/45's in stock right now? I'm still too new to the forum to get access to EE. Waiting patiently to get my 90 days membership so I can get into EE....

thanks!

your Calgary?

for price you cant beat wholesale sports.
that said, they actually have to have the gun you want in stock!
but for the price i have found it hard to beat wholesale sports.
cabela's Canada is getting good.

im in Alberta as well and i deal with a fella just outside of Calgary called shooters choice.
if he dosnt have what i want he gets it for me.
and his prices are right in line with everyone else.

i just prefer him because its one fella and you can actually TALK to him.
plus he will let you know if the item you want is gonna be back ordered for a year, haha!

i picked up my Ruger 22/45 Lite off of him.
my buckmark practical URX i think i got from my local Home Hardware store.

and your right, both are FANTASTIC guns!
i love them both, and you wont be suprised when you notice that they are very similar in feel and shooting.
the buckmark is a lot heavier then the 22/45 lite being the main difference.
but the buckmark has much better stock fiber optic sites.

if i can recommend anything about either it would be to kick in the extra couple bucks and get the buckmark with the URX grips.
they are sooooooooooooooo nice and make the gun a treat to shoot.
if you get the 22/45 Lite kick out the $25 and get some Hogue wrap around grips, that will make it just like the buckmark URX grips.

here are my 2 so you can see what im talking about.

Thanks for the tips, and the info about Shooters Choice. Didn't know about him and will definitely check him out.

I actually fell in love with the Buckmark with URX grips at Wholesale sports. So I know what you mean by how amazing those grips are.

Shooter's Choice is a mom and dad operation.
no store, he only goes to gun show's and has his site.
but really nice fella and real nice to deal with.
i go out of my way to buy my stuff from him.
